The increasing number of Base Stations in rural areas has become a sensitive issue, particularly with regard to environmental constrains of historic/touristic sites and nature constrains.
To integrate base station installations with the surrounding environment HOI/ASTE has introduced a line of HOI/ASTE RDDP® (Rapid Deployment Decorative Palm) assisting deployment of antennas with super structures of heights from 20, 25 and 30m.
Achievements in our HOI/ASTE RDDP® includes: camouflaged steel fence, camouflaged shelter and camouflaged pole with more branches, fuller foliage, more realistic palm covering the entire length of the trunk, and more antennas bearing.
HOI/ASTE RDDP® is a transportable antenna supporting structure mobilized with a truck to the site. This RDDP guarantee full operation of the base station site within minimum allowed hours in a maximum area as follows:
- 6.3m x 6.3m for pole height of 20m.
- 7.3m x 7.3m for pole height of 25m.
- 8.3m x 8.3m for pole height of 30m.
HOI/ASTE RDDP® use is strategic for the rapid extension of cellular networks, putting into service point to point connections.
HOI/ASTE RDDP® unit consists of a steel pole anchored to a pre-cast reinforced concrete slab; each component is designed to fully resist the maximum applied load, complying the requirements of ANSI- TIA-222, AISC, ACI 318 and ASCE-48 latest standards.HOI/ASTE RDDP® is with external step bolts with safety wire.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
PALM TRUNK
HOI/ASTE RDDP® trunk consists of a conical steel plate composed of several sections fitted together. The number of sections is determined by the required height. The trunk is covered with anti-static plastic material. This material is resistant to UV rays and weather agents and is very similar to natural palm tree bark. Realism is achieved by addition of artificial branches.
BRANCHES
HOI/ASTE RDDP® branches are composed of fiberglass plastic section with different heights achieving the tapered appearance of natural palm branches. Plastic leaves are added to the branches simulating actual foliage, all plastic materials are UV stabilized and anti- static. The use of plastic and fiberglass materials for palm leaves and branches ensures excellent RF and IF waves propagation.
ANTENNAS MOUNT
Depending on the site configuration, the antennas are installed at the top on a central steel mast or on special galvanized arms which are painted the same color as the branches. The arrangement of the foliage entirely conceals the panel antennas. The standard configuration is six GSM antennas and four MW antennas.
CABLES
Feeder cables are installed in the "trunk" and are not visible. Cable outlet is located at the base of the trunk and can be located either below ground level or on the side of the trunk.
POLE
HOI/ASTE RDDP® pole is a hot dipped galvanized conical plate with designed thickness of mild steel comply with BS EN 10025 for steel grade S235J0 or equivalent is used to resist and transfer palm tree loads to the base plate.
STRUTS
HOI/ASTE RDDP® struts are well designed pipes attached to the palm tree pole and anchored to the pre-cast reinforced concrete slab with means of anchor bolts; the struts are camouflaged with twine to simulate the surrounding environment.
REINFORCED CONCRETE SLAB
HOI/ASTE RDDP® reinforced concrete slab consists of four pre-cast slabs interlocked together, transported to the site on trucks and erected on a well finished ground surface.

SHELTER
HOI/ASTE RDDP® shelter is a camouflaged shelter, with minimum impact to surrounding environment; the shelter is designed for a design life of 20 year with moderate environmental conditions.
